Weekly news update - October 18

Greg Paulus is out "indefinitely"(which tells us nothing) with a broken bone in his foot. This is viewed as a critical loss for Duke, even though its not certain that he will miss any regular season games. Even if he does, all the more reason Martynas Pocius (pictured below) will be vaulted into the spotlight. Pocius, who I call the Redick of Russia (though I'm positive he's not Russian), may be forced into even more playing time at the point. After not getting enough time last year, he is overloaded this year. Thats a disgusting amount of irony.


USC has a recruit who should be ready to play as a freshman in the 2010-2011 season. 14-year old Dwayne Polee Jr. has accepted a scholarship offer from USC coach Tim Floyd, before he has even participated in a high-school level game. In a related story, Washington State was rumored to have recruited the young man pictured below...
